My name is Macarena Herreros, Maca for short, and I am an evolutionary therapeutic astrologer.
In a nutshell, astrology is the study of the motion and relative position of celestial bodies (the Sun, the Moon and the planets) and how those movements reflects on us, who we are and where we’re going, be it a human being, a nation or a community.
Astrology has been around for thousands of years, it can be traced back as far as Mesopotamia some 5000 years ago.
It is not based on causality (in my opinion) but correlation. When the first astrologers observed the heavens, they could make parallels between planetary events or positions with earthly occurrences, such as the birth of a king, or, for instance, an earthquake. “As above, so below”.
Astrology has gone through many stages, and has gone from mainstream to prosecuted by Christianity, and survived in the East while it almost disappeared from western civilizations, only to reappear again in medieval times, to fall out of favour again during the Age of Enlightenment.
Fast forward to the early 20th century, modern astrology flourished, as it incorporated perspectives based on psychological and and psychoanalytic studies and theories, specially the works of Carl Jung – who was himself into the esoteric, archetypes and astrology.
The focus of modern astrologers became the study of the birth chart as guide to understanding an individual’s personality and it’s complexities, including how astrology can help someone understand themselves better, find growth, evolution and healing in their journey.
Instead of focusing so much on divination, or predicting events set in stone, where an individual could not change the outcome, contemporary astrology became about understanding the person as a whole through their birth chart. The chart is like a blueprint or a map to the person’s soul, it’s desires, needs and wounds, where will power and choices play a big part.
Psychological astrology places the mind and its complexities as the center of study. A birth chart will serve to analyse and understand the innermost workings of a person’s psyche and their emotional world.
Evolutionary astrology understands the soul has an evolutionary journey and intention in this life, and the birth chart is the key to understanding this journey, its potentials and pitfalls which can then be corrected through the knowledge and awareness that an astrological analysis has produced.
When you combine evolutionary and psychological astrology it results in a powerful and transformative therapeutic tool.

Any two people will have a birth chart that will interact with the other person’s birth chart, and I can tell you about the energies and patterns that flow between you, and those that are more challenging and that need more work. This can be a truly beautiful experience for both people. You’ll realise you have a lot more in common than you thought, or you might realise the challenges of the relationship are different to the ones you thought.
Both people should be present in the reading (unless its for parents of young children). If the other person doesn’t want to, we can just look at your relational aspects and patterns and you’ll still learn a lot about how you relate to others.
